SimplBooks has always aimed to make accounting as simple and seamless as possible – for both small business owners and accountants. Now, we’ve taken the next big step in that direction with the launch of the SimplBooks AI assistant. It’s a smart helper designed to support you in your day-to-day accounting tasks.

It’s important to note that using the SimplBooks AI assistant is entirely optional. It is turned off by default, but you can easily activate it in your environment if you wish:

• Log in to your SimplBooks account
• Go to “Settings” in the top menu, then select “Integrations”
• Find the AI assistant in the list and click “Activate”

What can the SimplBooks AI assistant do for you?

The Ai assistant is more than just a chatbot. It has been trained on SimplBooks user guides and webinars, allowing it to provide fast, personalized support at any time.

Examples of questions you can ask:
Personalized user support:

• “How do I send an e-invoice?”
• “How do I create a credit invoice?”
• “How can I modify the chart of accounts?”

Data analysis and summaries:

• “What were my largest expenses last year?”
• “Compare April sales over the last three years.”

Error detection and checks:

• “Why is my balance sheet not balanced?”
• “Are there purchase invoices from the same supplier with the same number?”

Advice:

• “What should I review regarding receivables and prepayments before preparing the annual report?”

Security and responsibility

Security has always been a top priority at SimplBooks, as accounting data is highly sensitive. That’s why we emphasize that using artificial intelligence is never completely risk-free.

AI can make mistakes. Like any AI, the SimplBooks AI assistant is not infallible. Its suggestions and summaries may contain errors, so we recommend always verifying important decisions yourself.

Data processing on external servers. When using the AI assistant, queries are processed on servers located in the United States, which means data may be transferred outside of Europe.

Our goal is for you to use the AI assistant consciously, understanding both its capabilities and its limitations. By activating the assistant, you confirm that you are aware of these risks.

What’s coming next?

The current AI assistant is just the beginning. We are actively working on new features to make it even more powerful.

Very soon, you’ll be able to give the assistant direct commands, such as:
“Create a sales invoice for client XXX for 100 euros” or “Add this expense to account X.”
The assistant will do the work, and you simply confirm it.

We are also developing conversation history functionality. At the moment, each interaction starts from scratch, but soon you’ll be able to continue previous conversations and the assistant will remember context across sessions.
